Run Run Hide Hide

You should’ve known better
Than to listen to your friends
You’ve been duped once again
Deep down you knew it would go too far
Yet you stepped in the car

You should’ve known better
With all the flicks that you have seen
Of B-movies you’re so keen
So tell me what came over you
To think the saying must’ve been true?

What happens in Vegas
You thought stayed in Vegas
But I bet you never knew
That Vegas could come after you

You should’ve known better
And feel the storm coming through
When she walked towards you
You thought your charms had closed the deal
In the city where nothing’s real

You should’ve known better
Than to let her roll the dice
You weren’t ready to pay the price
Had been dealt a winning hand
You were so far from it my friend

There’s a rule you should have known
You do not play with what’s not your own
And I bet you never knew
That Vegas could come after you

Run Run Hide Hide
‘Cause if you don’t you gonna die
Run Run Hide Hide
And pray the Devil’s on your side

You should’ve known better
Than spend it all and look for more
What did you think you bargained for?
So blind when she got you the lead
That’s when you’re led by sex and greed

You, oh yeah, you should’ve known better
You gambled on a trip to hell
Deep down you knew it all so well
Now you’re broke and on the run
With all the money now she’s gone

What happens in Vegas
You thought stayed in Vegas
But I bet you never knew
That Vegas could come after you

Run Run Hide Hide
‘Cause if you don’t you’re gonna die
Run Run Hide Hide
Move Man! It’s no time to cry

Run Run Hide Hide
You’re way too young to die
Run Run Hide Hide
And pray yeah that the Devil’s on your side

(To be continued...)

This song is for Brainless Dudes who get messed up in Sin City.

Gab showed up one day with the intro as well as with the riff for the verses. Something was found through jam sessions for the bridge and the chorus. All together we polished it.

How did the Vegas inspired theme come about? Who knows. Probably because the line « You should’ve known better » came first and the rest was built around it. Anyway, the lyrics turned out as a stereotyped « B Movie » screenplay.

The words for the first verse came pretty quick but the lyrics for the other verses were just not working with the melody. This is when, in session, diGitum asked to just read the text to see if a few words here and there could be taken out. We taped it that way. It sounded cool so we decided to tell the story instead of singing it.

The story is : « To be continued ». How should it end? You tell us.
